Deconstructed Excerpts for TWO (2019)
ODC Theater, San Francisco
Deconstructed Excerpts for Two was presented by Raissa Simpson’s San Francisco-based festival, PUSHfest. Deconstructed Excerpts explores enduring relationships, and the shifts and new shapes they take over time. The piece was recreated from an earlier full length work made for four performers and a composer. Upon the discovery that two of the dancers, Shareen DeRyan and Leyna Swoboda, had known one another since childhood, JPMW created Deconstructed Excerpts for 2, as an exploration and affirmation of vulnerabilities that persists despite the effect of time.
