JPMW is a San Francisco based dance organization committed to fostering the vitality of dance through collaboration, support for other artists, and collective community engagement.
With attention to form, process, and nuance, we make and present experimental and experiential work that affirms the meaningful state of our subtle, fragile bodies in relationship to phenomena, place, and the current moment.
We commit to creating work that is inclusive and accessible, and that breaks down the traditional and sometimes hierarchical dance theater boundaries of presentation; inviting instead a shared space experience that obscures the lines between performative and non-performative occurrences.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
San Francisco Friends School 5th grade students witness an afternoon performance in the Music Concourse.
COLLABORATION
Our audience is a collaborator as well. We share space rather than occupy it, and value our witnesses as participants in the happening.
SUPPORT FOR OTHER ARTISTS
CCA visual artist Valerie Liu live sketches a performance of AS IS.
FORM PROCESS NUANCE
