Accumulated Tunings: 14 Phases in the Regeneration of the Body (2023)

SF Exploratorium, San Francisco

Accumulated Tunings": 14 Phases in the Regeneration of the Body was commissioned by San Francisco Trolley Dances for its 20th Anniversary production. The site-specific work is inspired by the interactive exhibits and curiosities inside the Human Phenomenon gallery at the SF Exploratorium. With artistic concerns around regeneration, collective care, and embodied ecologies of place, our work emerges as an activation of this dynamic public space, through an accumulation of movement scores based in embodied wonder, synergistic tuning, and ways of seeing.

Co-Creators and Performers: Julie Crothers, Shareen DeRyan, Irene Hsi, Maya Mohsin, Juliet Paramour, and Ainsley Tharp.

Live Sound Score/Composer: Clark Buckner

Costumes: Ainsley Tharp

Site Coordinator: Courtney Crother

Site Tour Guides: Jules Buckner and Lara D’Emilio

A special thank you to Sam Sharkland, Elisha Conrad, and the Public Programs team at SF Exploratorium, for their generous hospitality, flexibility, and open-mindedness to our creative vision of intersecting directly with the public. Thank you also to SF Trolley Dances for honoring us with the opportunity to be part of this momentous 20th year celebration, and final iteration of a beloved festival.
